Our LVN Nursing team plays a key role in assisting and managing a challenging and acute milieu, lead groups, caring for an assigned group of patients independently with R.N. oversight, engaging patients in the therapeutic experience and assist them in developing a recovery plan.
The Psych Intensive Care program (ICU) is a 27 bed psychiatric unit at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital. This unit provides short-term crisis intervention in a safe, secure and protected setting. Evaluation and treatment are conducted by an interdisciplinary team consisting of physicians, pharmacists, psychologists, nurses, social workers and recreation therapists. Individuals are helped to identify the immediate difficulty that has caused the need for hospitalization. A thorough clinical diagnostic assessment is conducted, focusing on acute symptom to regain their well-being. The important of family involvement in treatment and planning for discharge is critical to ensure a successful treatment outcome. The Psych ICU team values teamwork, excellent critical thinking and assessment skills and a commitment to provide superior patient care.

This position is located in Serra Mesa, San Diego County
Per Diem - Day position
7:00am - 3:30pm
Weekends - 1 weekend shift per scheduling period
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited LVN program or Navy Corpsman School
- Current unencumbered California Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) licensure
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- One year recent LVN employment experience in an Acute Psychiatric/Behavioral Health Inpatient setting
- One year recent acute care experience
- Crisis intervention experience
- Team player
- Excellent communication and observation skills
