The Marriage and Family Therapist evaluates and treats patients with appropriate supervision within the scope of care in a manner that is cost-effective and appropriate to the patient's diagnosis, age and culture. Completes all documentation to meet regulatory and financial requirements. Provides cooperative and courteous services to internal and external customers as part of Sharp HealthCare's commitment to customer satisfaction. Promotes constructive working relationships and works effectively as a part of the team to facilitate its ability to meet its goals and objectives. Performs duties as necessary for efficient departmental functioning and optimal patient care delivery. Identifies own needs for skills training and practice opportunities and demonstrates initiative in taking classes or attending programs related to work area and may contribute to professional development/education of staff members, other professionals and/or general public. Models professional behavior by being a member of local, state, and/or national psychological organizations.
Adult Outpatient Services is a highly intensive treatment program that treats older adults experiencing depression and anxiety and other mental health issues. The program offers a support therapeutic setting for patients experiencing significant disruption in daily living and takes a short term, group-oriented, modified cognitive-behavior approach.

Sharp Mesa Vista provides inpatient care and offer outpatient programs throughout the community.
This position is located in El Cajon, San Diego County
8-hour day shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; no weekends
This is a Full Time (1.0) Position: 80 hours per 2 week pay period
Required Skills and Qualifications
Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Psychology from an accredited graduate program
Current State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist (LMFT)
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association
One year of experience in a behavioral health setting
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Three years of experience in a behavioral health setting
Experience treating patients struggling with thought disorders
Experience in an intensive outpatient mental health setting
Acute/psychiatric hospital experience, discharge planning/case management experience
