The Marriage and Family Therapist – Licensed under direction of the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Supervisor is responsible for assessing and evaluating the psychosocial needs of the patient and family to determine treatment goals and interventions. Facilitates group, as well as individual and family, therapy for adolescents struggling with emotional, behavioral, and substance issues. Conducts thorough psychosocial assessments to identify appropriate treatment goals, and assists in the coordination of treatment and aftercare planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team. Must have a strong ability to develop positive working relationships with physicians, treatment team and other departments, to manage significant electronic documentation, and be responsive to the needs of the patients served.

We treat children and teens with depression, anxiety, substance use, bipolar disorder, self-harm and aggressive behaviors.

This position is for the Adolescent Partial Hospital program (APHP), located in Serra Mesa, San Diego County
8-hour day shift: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; no weekends
This is a Full Time (.9) Position: 72 hours per 2 week pay period
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Psychology from an accredited graduate program
- Current State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association
- One year of experience in a behavioral health setting
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Two years' recent experience in an adolescent behavioral health setting
- Acute/psychiatric hospital experience, discharge planning/case management
