Responsibilities

Summary
The Medical Admin Assistant – Call Pods (Medical Assistant) represent Sharp Rees-Stealy by providing patients with appointments, information, and other operational support services for the Clinical Call Pods and Patient Contact Center. Provide clinical information to callers within the established scope of practice. Provide a high level of customer service via telephone in a manner consistent with our SRS mission and goals.

Sharp Rees-Stealy has been serving the health care needs of San Diegans since 1923 when doctors Clarence Rees and Clair Stealy formed San Diego's first multispecialty medical group practice. Today, Sharp Rees-Stealy has 22 locations (and still growing) and over 500 primary care doctors and specialists representing virtually every field of medicine.


Location
This position is located in Kearny Mesa; Copley A Building.
 
Hours
Full time: 8am to 5pm. 
 
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • One year minimum MA experience in related clinical area.
  • One year current working experience in a high contact customer service environment or one year current experience in a Call Center.
  • Medication administration proficiency is necessary.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification of completion of a Medical Assistant program required.
  • Hospital Corpsman (HM) – asset.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers – required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – asset.
 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Preferred strong emphasis in customer service, computer skills, and phones in an office setting.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
