Responsibilities

Summary
The Medical Assistant will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient care assistance to the Rheumatology department.  This position will work closely with the physician to manage panel of patients and ensure a smooth patient flow and clinic operation.
The Sharp Rees-Stealy Department of Rheumatology consists of 6 providers on our staff to help meet the needs of our patients and is located at 6 of our Sharp Rees-Stealy medical clinics (Chula Vista, Downtown, La Mesa, Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch, and Sorrento Mesa).
With 450 primary and specialty care physicians providing care at 21 facilities throughout the region, Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group is one of the largest, most comprehensive medical groups in San Diego County, and is recognized for excellence in patient satisfaction and clinical care. For patient convenience and improved coordination of care, Sharp Rees-Stealy offers services like laboratory, radiology, physical therapy and urgent care within each clinic or nearby.

Location
This position is located in Downtown San Diego, San Diego County
 
Hours
Full Time, Days

Mondays and Fridays 8:15am-5:15pm
Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays 7:15am-4:15pm
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of certified Medical Assistant training program
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
  • One to three years current Medical Assistant experience  in related clinical area
  • Proficiency in clinical skills and office procedures
  • Computer and keyboard experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, flexible, and strong sense of team work 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Rheumatology experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
