Responsibilities
Summary
The Occupational Therapist I evaluates, plans, directs and administers physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Assists patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, and participates in CQI activities when requested. The Occupational Therapist I is a float pool position through Staffing Resource Network (SRN).
The SRN department offers opportunities to experience a wide range of patient care at various sites within Sharp HealthCare. Sharp promotes quality patient-family centered care in a team environment with excellent customer service. This position requires an enthusiastic, positive individual willing to be a part of a dynamic float pool servicing all of Sharp HealthCare.
Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa and consist of the Spectrum location, the Ruffin Road location and Sharp Operations Center (SOC). These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. These services include: Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Finance, Nursing, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.
Location
This position will float to different facilities within the Sharp HealthCare System, San Diego County
Hours
Per SRN Per Diem Agreement, employees will be expected to work:1 major holiday;1 shift during the week or 2 shifts on the weekend in a 4 week period
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current California Occupational Therapy licensure
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- One or more years of experience in Acute OT, Neuro or Rehab
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy or graduate of accredited college or university with a certificate in Occupational Therapy
