Responsibilities

Summary
The Occupational Therapy Assistant assists the Occupational Therapist in planning and administering treatment to patients with physical or emotional disabilities. Illness or injuries through the use of interview, cognitive tasks, exercise, functional training biofeedback and media activities.  Provide treatment in several areas or programs.  Completes all documentation to meet regulatory and financial requirements.  Provides cooperative and courteous services in internal and external customers as part of the Sharp Commitment to customer satisfaction.
This is a float pool position through Staffing Resource Network (SRN). The SRN department offers opportunities to experience a wide range of patient care at various sites within Sharp HealthCare. Sharp promotes quality patient-family centered care in a team environment with excellent customer service. This position requires an enthusiastic, positive individual willing to be a part of a dynamic float pool servicing all of Sharp HealthCare.
Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa and consist of the Spectrum location, the Ruffin Road location and Sharp Operations Center (SOC). These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. These services include: Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Finance, Nursing, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.

Location
This position will float to different Sharp HealthCare facilities, San Diego County
 
Hours

Available to be scheduled  4  shifts per four week schedule

Available to be scheduled to work at least 1 of:  Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s and at least 1   of:  Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor day or Martin Luther Day King Day

Available to be scheduled to work 1 Saturday or Sunday weekend shift per 4 week schedule

All Shifts must be 8 hour shifts


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved school for certified Occupational Therapy Assistants or accredited college with a certificate as Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Current California Occupational Therapy Assistant Licensure
  • Current BLS for Healthcare providers
  • One or more years of recent experience in Acute OT or Outpatient setting
