The OT Spec I performs occupational therapy evaluation of patients with various physical disabilities, conditions, injuries, etc. Designs and implements efficient and effective treatment plans. Develops and implements programs in support of the OT clinic’s pursuit to provide the Sharp Experience with a commitment to zero defects and zero harm.
Upper Extremity Rehab staff sees a wide variety of Upper Extremity diagnoses and enjoy excellent physician/therapist work environment. Department consists of 15 employees, 4 PSR's assisting with limited back office tasks and 11 Occupational Therapists, 6 of whom are CHT and 3 Lymphedema Therapists. We have sites in Rancho Bernardo, Chula Vista, and La Mesa, as well as the main site in Kearny Mesa.

This position is located at Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Center - Chula Vista with opportunities to work at Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Center - Murphy Canyon, San Diego County
8-hour shift; Part-time (.5) position to primarily work 8:00 am – 4:30; no weekends; Sharp Rees-Stealy Clinics are open 7:00 am until 6:30 pm and hours can vary
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved and accredited professional Occupational Therapy school or program
- Current California Occupational Therapist license
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- Competency in the area of hand and upper extremity conditions and splinting techniques
- Skill to establish effective rapport/communication with patients
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- 1-5 years of recent Occupational Therapy, and hand therapy experience
