Responsibilities

Summary

The Ophthalmic Assistant II assists the Optometrist/Ophthalmologist with patients and maintains patient flow. Initiates the examination by taking patient history and performs diagnostic testing per physician orders.

The eye center is a busy and dynamic multi-specialty surgical ophthalmology clinic with 4 ophthalmologists and 2 optometrists located at Sharp Outpatient Pavilion, Downtown, Santee, Otay Ranch, Rancho Bernardo and Sorrento Mesa.

Location

This position is located in Downtown San Diego

 

Hours

Part time, 0.8; 8-hour day shift: 8:00am-5:00pm, no weekends  

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Current BLS certification by American Heart Association
  • Minimum of one (1) year current experience in Ophthalmology
  • Knowledge of eye medications, use and care of instruments, and sterile techniques

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience of retina, fundus photography, fluorescein angiogram, and intravitreal injections
