Responsibilities

Summary
The Ophthalmic Technician II position will assist all eye department providers, as necessary, in our busy Neuro-Ophthalmology, General Ophthalmology, and Optometry practice. This position will initiate exams by taking patient history and performing high level diagnostic testing.
The Sharp Rees-Stealy Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry consists of 25 providers on our staff to help meet the needs of our patients and is located at 7 of our Sharp Rees-Stealy medical clinics in San Diego (Downtown, La Mesa West, Otay Ranch, Serra Mesa Outpatient Pavilion, Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch, and Sorrento Mesa).

Location
This position is located in Scripps Ranch, San Diego County
 
Hours
8-hour shift: 8:00am-5:00pm
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Must be JCAHPO certified at Assistant level (COA) or must obtain JCAHPO certification within one year
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Two years’ current experience in Ophthalmology
  • Knowledge of eye meds, use/care of instruments, and sterile technique
 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Cataract and corneal practice experience preferred.
