The Ophthalmic Technician II position will assist the Ophthalmologist with patients and maintains patient flow in our busy Occuloplastic Ophthalmology and Optometry practice. Initiates the examination by taking patient history and performing high level diagnostic testing. Coordinates surgical procedures
The Sharp Rees-Stealy Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry consists of 25 providers on our staff to help meet the needs of our patients and is located at 7 of our Sharp Rees-Stealy medical clinics in San Diego (Downtown, La Mesa West, Otay Ranch, Serra Mesa Outpatient Pavilion, Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch, and Sorrento Mesa).

Variable 8-hour day shift. No weekends.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Must be JCAHPO certified at Assistant level (COA) or must obtain JCAHPO certification within one year
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
- Two years’ current experience in Ophthalmology
- Knowledge of eye meds, use/care of instruments, and sterile technique
