This position is located in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego County
 
Hours
8-hour day shift: 8:00am-5:00pm, no weekends
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current be JCAHPO certified at Assistant level (COA) or must obtain JCAHPO certification within one year of date of hire/transfer
  • Current BLS certification
  • Two years’ current experience in Ophthalmology
  • Knowledge of eye meds, use/care of instruments, and sterile technique
 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Cirrus OCT experience

Summary
The Ophthalmic Technician will assist all eye department providers, as necessary, in our high volume clinic - Retina, Cornea/Cataract, Glaucoma, General Ophthalmology and Optometry practice. The Ophthalmic Technician will initiate exam by taking patient history and performing high level diagnostic testing.
The Sharp Rees-Stealy Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry consists of 25 providers on our staff to help meet the needs of our patients and is located at 7 of our Sharp Rees-Stealy medical clinics in San Diego (Downtown, La Mesa West, Otay Ranch, Serra Mesa Outpatient Pavilion, Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch, and Sorrento Mesa).
