Responsibilities

Summary

The Optical Imaging Specialist assures that optical imaging functions are completed accurately and in a timely manner. General responsibilities include prepping, indexing and scanning of medical records for both current and discharged patients. Position also provides support for other HIM functions such as customer service (i.e. reception, record retrieval for patient care).

Sharp HealthCare's Health Information Management (HIM) Document Imaging Department plays a vital role in managing the patient’s health information by ensuring that it is held confidential.  We work with all departments to maintain the quality of our electronic medical record, support the physicians and clinical staff, and strive to provide excellent service to our external and internal candidates.

Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa. These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. Some of these services include Centralized Patient Placement Center, Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources and Talent Management, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Lean Six Sigma, Finance, Staffing Resource Network, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.

Location

This position may be at any Sharp hospital, San Diego County.  

 

Hours

Full time:  4:30am to 1pm.

Must be able to work the weekends consistently.  Must be very flexible with schedules to meet department's needs.

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 Year Health Information Management



 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Optical imaging knowledge, preferred.
