The OR Support will provide clerical support for the Operating Room scheduling office. Responsibilities will include scheduling surgical procedures accurately, print O.R. schedules, answer phones; communication with other departments, physicians, physician offices, visitors and sales representatives. This is a multi-specialty inpatient Operating Room for Level 2 Trauma Center.
This position is for the Surgical Department at Sharp Memorial Hospital. The Surgical Department has a brand new state of the art facility. The multi-specialty surgical services is comprised of 12 OR suites. Some of the nationally recognized programs are in Bariatric, Robotic, and Open Heart and Transplant. This position is located in Serra Mesa, San Diego County at Sharp Memorial Hospital.
Hours: per diem; 3 pm - 1130 pm, with every other weekend and on call.
This is a temporary position to last approximately 6 months.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Ability to perform duties according to specific written and/or verbal instructions.
To accurately maintain scheduling documentation.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Basic computer skills.
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Four years' current experience within a hospital, medical setting; ICU, MICU, ER and/or Operating Room
Experience with IDX, CarePoint, PICIS/OR Manager
High school graduate or equivalent.
