Responsibilities
Summary
The OR Support will provide clerical support for the Operating Room scheduling office.  Responsibilities will include scheduling surgical procedures accurately, print O.R. schedules, answer phones; communication with other departments, physicians, physician offices, visitors and sales representatives. This is a multi-specialty inpatient Operating Room for Level 2 Trauma Center.

Location
This position is located in Serra Mesa, San Diego County at Sharp Memorial Hospital.
 
Hours: Variable 10 hour day shifts with flexible shift times of: 0530-1600, 0630-1700, 0700-1730, 0730-1800
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to perform duties according to specific written and/or verbal instructions.
  • To accurately maintain scheduling documentation.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
 
  • Four years' current experience within a hospital, medical setting; ICU, MICU, ER and/or Operating Room
  • Experience with IDX, CarePoint, PICIS/OR Manager
  • High school graduate or equivalent
