Responsibilities
Summary
The Patient Attendant–orients patient/resident and family to facility/room. Inventories and documents patient’s belongings on inventory sheet upon admission and update as needed accounts for patient’s belongings during transfer and discharge process. Removes patient’s equipment and supplies upon discharge and ensures room preparation set-up for next admission. Seeks individualized patient information/instructions and goals from licensed nurses upon reporting to the unit.
Sits in the patient's room with an unobstructed view of the patient. Observes the patient and maintains a safe environment as directed by the Registered Nurse. Accompanies patient for any clinical tests/procedures of the unit. Completes all aspects of Activities of Daily Living including, but not limited to: vital signs, bathing, feeding, toileting, range of motion.
Refers patient to the nurse or physician to answer questions regarding care/condition.
The sitter will constantly observe patient(s) and remains within 5 feet of the patient(s) during waking hours and no more than 10 feet away when the patient (s) is asleep.
This position required a motivated, enthusiastic, flexible individual that is looking to be a part of a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will promote teamwork, provide compassionate, competent care, and function independently in the SRN Pool.

Required Skills and Qualifications
-
High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
-
One year of recent experience in skilled nursing facility or acute care facility.

Knowledge of basic patient/resident care skills
-
Ability to perform all baseline patient/resident skills under the guidance of a RN
- Knowledge comparable to a certified nursing assistant course
