The Patient/Community Liaison assists Sharp patients with various concerns which may include service, billing and other types of issues.  Patient concerns are recorded, followed and maintained in a data base.  The position provides education/training to patients, employees and physicians.  Responsible for the coordination of volunteers and is the site liaison for Sharp Rees-Stealy marketing programs.  The Patient and Community Liaison works with all levels of personnel in the organization including physicians and management.

This position is one of five Patient and Community Liaisons in the Sharp Rees-Stealy system which provides direct support for five Sharp Rees-Stealy facilities in the Central Region:  Downtown, Point Loma, San Diego, Outpatient Pavilion and Frost Street.

Sharp Rees-Stealy has been serving the health care needs of San Diegans since 1923 when doctors Clarence Rees and Clair Stealy formed San Diego's first multispecialty medical group practice. Today, Sharp Rees-Stealy has 22 locations (and still growing) and over 500 primary care doctors and specialists representing virtually every field of medicine.


This position is located in Central Downton San Diego.

Full time: 8am to 5pm. 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Three years experience in healthcare setting.

  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance.

  • High School diploma required.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong business service background preferred.

  • Customer service experience preferred.

  • College education preferred.
