The Patient Service Representative represents Sharp Rees-Stealy by providing patients with appointments, information and other operational support services for assigned
department. Provides a high level of customer service in a manner consistent with our Mission and Goals. Responsible for patient registration, demographic and insurance updates. Confirms insurance eligibility and obtains authorizations for service. Works with patients to resolve billing and insurance related issues.
The Sharp Rees-Stealy Department of Ophthalmology consists of 12 providers on our staff to help meet the needs of our patients and is located at 5 of our Sharp Rees-Stealy medical clinics in San Diego (Downtown, La Mesa West, Otay Ranch, Serra Mesa Outpatient Pavilion, and Rancho Bernardo).

Sharp Rees-Stealy has been serving the health care needs of San Diegans since 1923 when doctors Clarence Rees and Clair Stealy formed San Diego's first multispecialty medical group practice. Today, Sharp Rees-Stealy has 22 locations (and still growing) and over 500 primary care doctors and specialists representing virtually every field of medicine.
This position is located in Rancho Bernardo.
- Medical office experience required with a strong emphasis in customer service, computer skills, and phones or completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Terminology required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program preferred.
