Responsibilities

Summary:
The Patient Service Representative represents Sharp Rees-Stealy by providing patients with appointments, information and other operational support services for assigneddepartment. Provides a high level of customer service in a manner consistent with our Mission and Goals. Responsible for patient registration, demographic and insurance updates. Confirms insurance eligibility and obtains authorizations for service. Works with patients to resolve billing and insurance related issues.
The Sharp Rees-Stealy Department of Pulmonary Medicine consists of 10 providers on our staff to help meet the needs of our patients and is located at 4 of our Sharp Rees-Stealy medical clinics (Kearny Mesa, Rancho Bernardo, La Mesa, and Otay Ranch).

Sharp Rees-Stealy has been serving the health care needs of San Diegans since 1923 when doctors Clarence Rees and Clair Stealy formed San Diego's first multispecialty medical group practice. Today, Sharp Rees-Stealy has 22 locations (and still growing) and over 500 primary care doctors and specialists representing virtually every field of medicine.

Location:  
This position is located Kearny Mesa. Maybe required to travel to Frost Street North, Scripps Ranch, Otay Ranch or Rancho Bernardo: Pulmonology, Cardiology, Oncology, Palliative Care and Gastroenterology.
 
Hours:
Per diem: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Saturday 8am-5pm as needed.
 
 
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Medical office experience required with a strong emphasis in customer service, computer skills, and phones or completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Medical Terminology required.

 

 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program preferred.
