The Patient Service Representative is responsible for patient registration, demographic and insurance updates. Confirms insurance eligibility and obtains authorizations for service. Works with patients to resolve billing and insurance related issues.

Sharp Rees-Stealy Center for Health Management offers a variety of safe and effective nonsurgical programs to help patients lose weight and keep it off.  The weight-loss support programs are structured, personalized and easy to follow. The team emphasizes practical, progressive skills to promote healthier eating, increased physical activity and better control over the environment. Center for Health Management and weight loss support services are offered at the following Sharp locations:  Sharp Rees-Stealy Murphy Canyon, Sharp Rees-Stealy Santee, and Sharp Rees-Stealy Rancho Bernardo

Sharp Rees-Stealy has been serving the health care needs of San Diegans since 1923 when doctors Clarence Rees and Clair Stealy formed San Diego's first multispecialty medical group practice. Today, Sharp Rees-Stealy has 22 locations (and still growing) and over 500 primary care doctors and specialists representing virtually every field of medicine.

This position will travel throughout the Sharp Rees-Stealy sites.

Full time: Schedule is Monday through Friday, currently no weekends. Shifts vary from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. to 9:45 a.m. to 6 p.m., may eventually be later.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Medical office experience required with a strong emphasis in customer service, computer skills and phones or completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Terminology required.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • IDX/Touchworks experience desired.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program preferred.
  • QuickBooks experience.
