Responsibilities

Summary
The Pharmacist will provide the professional, clinical and technical knowledge, and skills and expertise required for the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care in the Centralized Pharmacy care setting that supports the mission, values and philosophy of Pharmacy Services and Sharp HealthCare.
As the Pharmacist in the sterile compounding clean room, you will supervise the preparation and distribution of IV admixtures and supplies in accordance to USP 797 sterile compounding regulations. Assure compliance with quality assurance programs. Oversees inventory control of supplies and pharmaceuticals for daily production
This position is for the Sharp Central pharmacy, which compounds IV products for all of the Sharp hospitals.  Currently Sharp HealthCare Central pharmacy division consists of a pharmacy department (Home Infusion, Hospice, Specialty Pharmacy, and Centralized Repackaging) and Nursing department with approximately 50 employees in both divisions. We are a provider of medications, supplies, medical equipment and nursing visits to patients in their home. 

The Sharp Centralized Pharmacy Service, which consists of the Sharp Centralized Hospital Pharmacy, is a licensed entity providing sterile compounds and solutions used in hospitals in the Sharp HealthCare system.  They employ a team of pharmacists, technicians and ancillary personnel who, through lean processes and expertise in sterile compounding, provide quality pharmaceutical products to Sharp HealthCare entities.

Location
This position is located in Kearny Mesa, San Diego County.
 
Hours
FULL-TIME
8 hours variable shift, 4:30 am - 1:00 pm or variable as needed, every other weekends.
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current unencumbered CA Pharmacist license 
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a hospital pharmacy environment is preferred
  • Ability to work in a complex and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize work and follow through on responsibilities
  • Ability to manage fluctuating workload and technicians 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in computer skills
 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Residency program 
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
