The Pharmacy Tech will assist the 340B Program Specialist at Sharp HealthCare with the 340B program to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, optimize operations and analyze financial performance both in the hospital and contract pharmacy settings.
Currently Sharp HealthCare Central pharmacy division consists of a pharmacy department (Home Infusion, Hospice, Specialty Pharmacy, and Centralized Repackaging) and Nursing department with approximately 50 employees in both divisions. We are a provider of medications, supplies, medical equipment and nursing visits to patients in their home. The goal at Sharp Home Infusion Services is to offer high quality patient care and services that go above and beyond customer expectations. They employ a team of pharmacists who provide clinical evaluation and management, pharmacy technicians who prepare and package infusion products, a dietitian for nutritional consultations, as well as specially trained home-infusion nurses, all who coordinate care for patients in their homes. There is also the Sharp Centralized Pharmacy Service, which consists of the Sharp Centralized Hospital Pharmacy. This licensed entity provide sterile compounds and solutions used in hospitals in the Sharp HealthCare system. They employ a team of pharmacists, technicians and ancillary personnel who, through lean processes and expertise in sterile compounding, provide quality pharmaceutical products to Sharp HealthCare entities.
This position is located in Kearny Mesa, CA; San Diego County.
8 hour day variable shift, anytime between 0700 - 1900, no weekends.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Satisfactory completion of pharmacy technician training program or equivalent in work experience is required.
- Current unencumbered CA Pharm Technician license
- Minimum three (3) years of current experience in hospital pharmacy with some knowledge of retail pharmacy preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Access preferred.
- Experience working with teams across the healthcare spectrum including pharmacies, vendors, and information technology specialists preferred.
Knowledge of 340B regulations is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
- BA in Business, MBA, or equivalent degree
