Summary
The Pharmacy Technician ROMACC  will work under the supervision of a Pharmacist to obtain home medication regimens from patients.  The ROMACC technician will also be responsible for identifying discrepancies between the patient's home medications and in-house orders.  The discrepancies will be communicated to the appropriate pharmacist for follow up. 
The Pharmacy Technician is involved in the identification and interviewing of newly admitted patient's and completing the electronic documented Home Medication process in Cerner Millennium.

Location

This position is located at Serra Mesa, San Diego County.
 
Hours
PART-TIME VARIABLE/ .5 FTE (40 hours pay period)
8 hours variable shift, weekends as needed.
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program
  • Current unencumbered CA Pharmacy Technician licensure
  • Minimum of two (2) years current Pharmacy Tech experience in pharmacy or similar environment is required.  Combination of both inpatient and outpatient experience preferred, particularly outpatient experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of medication nomenclature and dosing.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, trade, generic drug names, and metric system
                          
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • One (1) year current Pharmacy Technician experience in a hospital setting 
  • Experience with medication reconciliation and obtaining accurate medication histories
  • Proficiency with computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong customer service skills
