This position will be telecommuting several days during the work week. This position will require an in-depth knowledge and understanding of multiple pharmacy and related applications. The Pharmacy Technician Informatics Specialist will assist with managing automations and technologies; coordinating and participating in projects; providing reports and audits within their respective applications; creating technology and automation related documents; and improving the quality of customer service.
The goal of Sharp HealthCare Pharmacy Services department is to provide quality clinical and distribution services that set the community standard for innovation, operational efficiency, prevention of adverse medication events and promotion of cost effective drug therapy through collaboration with all members of the health care team.
Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa and consist of the Spectrum location, the Ruffin Road location and Sharp Operations Center (SOC). These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. These services include: System Pharmacy Services, Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Finance, Nursing, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.
This position is located in Kearny Mesa, San Diego County.
8 hours day shift, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Weekends and evenings would be possible if an active project necessitates
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current unencumbered CA Pharmacy Technician license
- Three (3) years pharmacy tech experience in a hospital pharmacy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Experience with pharmacy automation and technology (i.e. Pyxis, Alaris, DoseEdge, Abacus, Cerner, etc) preferred
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Visio preferred
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Five year hospital pharmacy tech experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
