Responsibilities

Summary
The Pharmacy Technician is part of an integral pharmacy team providing the best patient care. The Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of a Pharmacist, providing technical knowledge, skill and expertise required for the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care that supports the mission, values and philosophy of Pharmacy Services and Sharp HealthCare.  This Pharmacy Technician will be working in the inpatient pharmacy.
This is a float pool position through Staffing Resource Network (SRN).  The SRN department offers opportunities to experience a wide range of patient care at various sites within Sharp HealthCare. Sharp promotes quality patient-family centered care in a team environment with excellent customer service. This position requires an enthusiastic, positive individual willing to be a part of a dynamic float pool servicing all of Sharp HealthCare.

Location
This position is located in Kearny Mesa. This position requires floating throughout the Sharp HealthCare system within San Diego County.
 
Hours
PER DIEM
8 hours variable shifts, weekends as needed.
 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program
  • Current unencumbered CA Pharmacy Technician license
  • Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, trade, generic drug names, and metric system 
  • Demonstrates proficiency with sterile techniques
  • Strong customer service skills 
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills 
 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Current one (1) year Pharmacy Technician experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
