This position will be assigned to work with Sharp Community Medical Group (SCMG).  You will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Medication Therapy Management division within the Ambulatory Case Management for all SCMG regions.  The Pharmacy Technician is part of an integral pharmacy team providing the best patient care. The Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of a Pharmacist, providing technical knowledge, skill and expertise required for the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care that supports the mission, values and philosophy of Pharmacy Services and Sharp HealthCare. 
This is a float pool position through Staffing Resource Network (SRN).  The SRN department offers opportunities to experience a wide range of patient care at various sites within Sharp HealthCare. Sharp promotes quality patient-family centered care in a team environment with excellent customer service. This position requires an enthusiastic, positive individual willing to be a part of a dynamic float pool servicing all of Sharp HealthCare.

This position is located in Kearny Mesa. This position will be assigned to work with Sharp Community Medical Group (SCMG). 
8 hours day shift, no weekends.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program
  • Current unencumbered CA Pharmacy Technician license
  • Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, trade, generic drug names, and metric system 
  • Demonstrates proficiency with sterile techniques
  • Strong customer service skills 
  • Proficient in the use of business software programs including; MS Word, Excel, Access and IDX.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a variety of patient care settings or pharmacy settings preferred
  • Experience in HMO or delegated risk medical group/IPA setting is preferred

  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to read, speak, and hear English clearly.

  • Excellent knowledge and use of Medical Terminology.
