Responsibilities
Summary
The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the direction of a physical therapist, provides physical therapy care to patients with impaired functional mobility as a result of neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, and/or cardiopulmonary involvement or injury.
Sharp Memorial Rehabilitation Center provides comprehensive rehabilitation services throughout San Diego County, such as inpatient rehabilitation following catastrophic strokes, brain injuries and spinal cord injuries; outpatient rehabilitation for neurological concerns, sprains, strains and injuries; and specialty therapy services for problems related to balance, speech, lymphedema and chronic pain. Our rehabilitation team has witnessed first-hand the triumphs that people achieve in the face of adversity. The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) has awarded Sharp Memorial Rehabilitation Center with a special designation for the rehabilitation of patients with brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke and general rehabilitation designations.

Location
This position is located at Sharp Memorial – Acute Physical Therapy Department at Sharp Memorial Hospital in the community of Serra Mesa, San Diego County
Hours
10 hour shifts; Full-time position to work Day Shift hours; 7:30 am > 6:00 pm; weekends as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
- California Physical Therapy Assistant License
- CA Physical Therapist Assistant license
- Valid BLS certificate for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, self-motivated, attentive to details
- Must works well within a team oriented work environment
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- One to three years of Physical Therapist Assistant experience
- Completion of a two year Associates degree in a Physical Assistant Program
- Experienced in Acute Physical Therapy Department
