This position is located at Sharp Memorial Rehabilitation Center Sports Medicine Physical Therapy in Serra Mesa, San Diego County
8 hour shifts; per diem position to work variable day shift hours; no weekends
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a degree in Physical Therapy
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- Current California Physical Therapy Licensure
- Two or more years of orthopedic outpatient experience as a Physical Therapist
- Sound manual therapy skills are a must when working with a complex outpatient orthopedic population
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Must have desire to promote the profession of physical therapy and an eagerness to learn through continuing education
The Physical Therapist will evaluate and treat patients within their scope of practice in a manner that is cost-effective and appropriate to the patient's diagnosis, age and culture. He or she will complete all documentation to meet regulatory and financial requirements. A good candidate will demonstrate sound clinical skill and the willingness to learn via external and internal continuing education opportunities. Excellent communication skills are necessary when working with a variety of referring providers, a diverse patient population, and a large clinical staff. The physical therapist will provide cooperative and courteous service to internal and external customers as part of Sharp HealthCare's commitment to customer satisfaction.
We are a dynamic hospital-based outpatient orthopedic clinic. We evaluate and treat patients referred to us from Primary Care Physicians, dentists, and orthopedic surgeons. Our patients come from a variety of backgrounds and range from the competitive younger athlete to the active middle aged/older adult. Common diagnoses include lumbar and cervical spine injury, the post-surgical knee and shoulder, SIJ dysfunction, shoulder impingement, lower quarter biomechanical injury, and TMJ dysfunction. Our physical therapists appreciate the ability to cultivate their own personal treatment style while providing sound evidence-based care.
