The Physical Therapy Aide assists multiple physical therapists in a busy PT gym setting, assisting with patient treatment under the direct supervision of the PT, utilizing modalities and exercise programs for patients with a variety of diagnoses. Willing to cross train to cover front desk operations, scheduling, co-pay collection, clerical tasks. Communicates provider delays. Monitors patient waiting area and manages telephone calls.
We are an energetic multi-disciplinary outpatient physical rehabilitation department treating patients with a variety of pathologies including orthopedic, industrial injuries, neuro, peds, geriatics, etc. We are dedicated to teamwork, continuing education opportunities and patient care. We are part of a diverse rehabilitation services department with 8 Physical Therapists and 1 Speech Therapist.

This position is located Sharp Rees-Stealy - Sorrento Mesa facility in San Diego County
8 hour shifts; Per Diem position to work variable hours; 10:00 am – 7:00 pm; no weekends
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong customer service, computer and phone skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- One year Physical Therapy Aide experience or recent related patient care experience
- Ability to supervise Physical Therapy modalities and exercise programs safely and according to accepted standards
- Enrollment in or graduation from a pre-physical therapy program
- Knowledge of medical receptionist duties
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
