The Physical Therapy Aide assists multiple physical therapists in a busy PT gym setting, assisting with patient treatment under the direct supervision of the PT, utilizing modalities and exercise programs for patients with a variety of diagnoses.  Willing to cross train to cover front desk operations, scheduling, co-pay collection, clerical tasks.  Communicates provider delays.  Monitors patient waiting area and manages telephone calls.
Sharp Rees-Stealy Santee offers comprehensive medical services to those living in Santee, El Cajon, Lakeside, La Mesa and other East County communities.  The 86,000 square-foot site features most of the care you need under one roof, including lab, pharmacy, an optical shop, radiology, urgent care and primary and specialty care.
With over 580 primary care and specialty care physicians providing care at 21 facilities throughout the region.  Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group is one of the largest, most comprehensive medical groups in San Diego County, and is recognized for excellence in patient satisfaction and clinical care.  For patient convenience and improved coordination of care, Sharp Rees-Stealy offers services in laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, physical therapy, optical and urgent care within each medical center or nearby.
This position is located at the Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Center – Santee in Santee, Ca, San Diego County
8 hour shifts; 745-445 T/TH Fri 1145-445 however must be available to work other 8 hour shifts between the hours of 7 am – 7 pm M-F based on clinic needs
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Ability to supervise Physical Therapy modalities and exercise programs safely and according to accepted standards
  • Medical Terminology
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Clear and concise communication skills and professional telephone skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • One year Physical Therapy Aide experience or related patient care experience
  • Medical Office experience/training
  • Enrollment in or graduation from a pre-physical therapy program
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
