Responsibilities

The Product Manager l-Digital Marketing is responsible for managing and creating digital products that enable Sharp to grow, improve patient engagement and deliver on Sharp’s mission to be the best place to work, practice medicine and receive care. The Product Manager I is responsible for defining, delivering, and managing the lifecycle of Sharp’s patient- and consumer-facing digital products, aligning with the overall strategy and company KPls. Additional responsibilities include business case development, competitive analysis, customer research, product requirements, product status reports, client presentations, delivery/launch, site integration, reporting/analysis, and performance monitoring.

We are looking for a deeply strategic critical thinker who is comfortable digging for data and customer insights to build out and support a well-defined roadmap of features and products. This person must feel equally comfortable getting to know and interviewing customers one-on-one, writing business requirements documents for a technical audience and distilling insights for executive level presentations. Candidate should have a depth of experience building strategic roadmaps based on sound research principles and should be able to clearly communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences.

The Product Management team sits within the Digital Marketing team but works closely with IT and business units to help create the best digital products for our customers and patients. Each person on the team is a leader for their product, and works autonomously to bring the best out of the core working team.  

We are currently hiring product managers to work on the following products: patient portals, voice, digital identity, care journey mapping, and omnichannel solutions for our contact centers, including chat and IVR. The product manager will work with physician and operational stakeholders and to determine the requirements and work with the IT teams and vendor partners to bring the functionality to production.

This is a full-time permanent position. Benefits are included. The position is currently remote and we will consider applicants from outside of San Diego. However, applicants must be California residents to be considered.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a minimum four (4) years of product management experience designing and creating deliverables that support the execution of digital business strategy in conjunction with the business development lifecycle, preferably for an agency or large health care system.
  • Must be skilled in industry standard practices for developing successful products. Advanced presentation and communication skills are absolutely required.
  • Experience in a product management role required.
  • Experience developing products in Agile methodologies required. Experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and email software required. Experience writing business requirements documents required.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, MS Teams, Basecamp and Web analytics tools required

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of and experience with basic principles of product development.

Client Services:

  • Consults with business units and internal team members to represent the digital procedures and processes with clients.
  • Leads team and coordinates the efforts of a wide variety of disciplines.
  • Represents the organization as a subject matter expert on products, including presentations, client collaboration, and other support as needed.
  • Evaluates results and recommends changes to strategies, coordinating efforts with business units.
  • Manages clients’ expectations regarding timing and deliverables.

Design and development

  • Understands patient and consumer needs to present the customer with the best possible user experience across all products.
  • Works with the Information Architect and UX/UI team to help create wireframes and user interface for all products.
  • Manages the relationship between design and development for all product enhancements.
  • Researches the conceptual design of new product features or site enhancements via focus groups, usability tests, analytics and other research methods.

Product development:

  • Works with engineering teams in an agile environment, participating in scrum ceremonies when necessary, creating documentation for Epics and user stories, and partnering with engineering for the software development life cycle, participating in UAT and deployments.
  • Works with internal creative services, project management, development team and vendors to identify and develop digital products.
  • Understands the core business objectives of clients and translates to measurable and achievable goals they can attain from digital solutions.
  • Provides analysis and consultation on timelines, strategy development, requirements definition, design, IA, development, QAand user acceptance testing.

Strategy

  • Develops and executes product plans and roadmaps for various Sharp platforms with clear understanding of the market direction, regulatory requirements, technology trends, competition, and other variables impacting product strategy.
  • Works with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and communicates effectively with clients to help prioritize initiatives.
  • Focuses on product development to help strengthen Sharp’s relationship with its existing patients and attract new customers.
  • Gathers frequent customer feedback to ensure customer need is being met.
