Responsibilities

Summary

The Rehab Aide I provides assistance to therapists with patient care activities. Provides patient related tasks as directed by the supervising therapist within the context of the clinical environment and training received. Communicates verbally and/or documents all elements of patient care management according to Sharp's commitment to customer satisfaction. Observes all safety precautions as described in the policies and procedures of Sharp HealthCare and the department. Maintains department and treatment areas in safe, clean, orderly fashion and monitors department supplies.

This is a float pool position through Staffing Resource Network (SRN). The SRN department offers opportunities to experience a wide range of patient care at various sites within Sharp HealthCare. Sharp promotes quality patient-family centered care in a team environment with excellent customer service. This position requires an enthusiastic, positive individual willing to be a part of a dynamic float pool servicing all of Sharp HealthCare.

Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa and consist of the Spectrum location, the Ruffin Road location and Sharp Operations Center (SOC). These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. These services include: Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Finance, Nursing, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.

Location

This position will float throughout all Sharp HealthCare facilities, San Diego County

Hours

SRN Per Diem employees are expected to work 4 shifts in a 4 week period with one of the shifts being a Saturday or Sunday. Along with a major and minor holiday

Required Skills and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
Competent in providing patient care as directed by the supervising therapist within the context of the clinical environment and training received
Recent rehab related experience
Cooperative and courteous to the customers and demonstrates appropriate awareness of age and cultural needs as part of Sharp HealthCare's commitment to customer satisfaction
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Experience working in the Rehab field with Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy
Enrollment in or graduation from a pre-physical therapy program
