Responsibilities

Summary
The Research Associate I under supervision, assists in the coordination of multiple clinical research studies involving human subjects from initiation to completion for a variety of clinical research studies in Psychiatry. Functions as a study participant advocate preparing correspondence to sponsors and Sharp HealthCare Institutional Review Board (IRB).
As the largest behavioral health care provider in San Diego with 149 beds, Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital provides a full range of programs to people of all ages including children, adolescents, adults and seniors challenged by depression, substance abuse or serious mental illness. The hospital’s robust Clinical Research Program has conducted more than 250 clinical trials of investigational medications since its inception in 1963, providing new options and hope for people with mental illness.  Sharp Mesa Vista provides inpatient care and offer outpatient programs throughout the community.
Location
This position is located in Serra Mesa, San Diego County

Hours
8-hour day shift: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm ; including weekends as needed
May be required to work variable hours and travel as needed
This is a Part Time (.8) Position: 64 hours per 2 week pay period

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current BLS certification for HealthCare Providers
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proficient in Windows, Word and Excel ( including forms and macros)
  • Proficient in the development and maintenance of complex spreadsheets
  • Skills in analyzing and solving problems
  • Strong planning skills with ability to prioritize
  • Ability to organize and coordinate data collection for research program
  • Ability to communicate with the research team effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC-ACRP)
  • One - Two years’ experience in Psychiatric Research
  • Two - Three years' Marketing/Recruitment experience for subjects in pharmaceutical trials
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and documentation
  • Knowledge of subject recruitment, screening and evaluation of subjects and protocols
