SRN provides supplemental staffing throughout Sharp Healthcare.
About Staffing Resource Network:
SRN float pool offers the ability to float around the Sharp system and experience the different units and cultures and then pick your favorites and pre-book there. The ultimate in flexibility and variety!
The SRN department offers opportunities to experience a wide range of patient care at various sites within Sharp HealthCare. Sharp promotes quality patient-family centered care in a team environment with excellent customer service. This position requires an enthusiastic, positive individual willing to be a part of a dynamic float pool servicing all of Sharp HealthCare.

Sharp Memorial Hospital (SMH)
Sharp Memorial Hospital — the first hospital in San Diego with all private patient rooms — is dedicated to providing the highest-quality, patient-centered care and consists of 368 beds. Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center (SCV)
The Women’s and Infant Services at Sharp Chula Vista Medical delivers 250-300 infants/month. The Labor and Delivery department is comprised of an 8 bed triage, 10 bed LDR suite, 19 bed Post-Partum unit, 2 OR suites, 3 bed PACU and a 9 bed Level II NICU.

Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center has been providing health care to San Diego's South Bay community for more than 70 years. Now we are on a journey to go beyond, building a next-generation hospital in our binational region. The new hospital tower at Sharp Chula Vista combines clinical excellence with thoughtful consideration to provide the best level of care to the community we're privileged to serve. The new hospital tower is the first new Sharp hospital in San Diego’s South Bay in more than 40 years. The tower includes seven stories, a 197,000-square-foot hospital.

Sharp Coronado Hospital
From emergency services to a nationally recognized total joint replacement program, Sharp Coronado Hospital is a 204 bed facility that has a long tradition of providing top-quality, comprehensive health care.
Sharp Coronado incorporates many personalized aspects into its care philosophy — including patient empowerment, patient and family education, and a physical environment that promotes healing through complementary therapies such as clinical aromatherapy, massage and Healing Touch. Sharp Coronado Hospital is one of the first five hospitals nationally to be designated as a Patient-Centered Hospital by Planetree, an organization committed to personalizing, humanizing, and demystifying the hospital experience for patients and their families.
Sharp Grossmont Hospital (SGH)
Nationally ranked in the top 10th percentile for patient satisfaction in maternal/infant health services by Press Ganey, The Women's Health Center at Sharp Grossmont Hospital offers comprehensive services for women at all stages of life. We are dedicated to providing a healing, family-centered environment for women and newborn infants. Our level IIIA Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has 24-beds allowing for specialized stabilization and management of high-risk and premature infants; recently expanded services include medical management of infants requiring ventilator support.
Sharp Grossmont Hospital is the largest not-for-profit, full-service acute care hospital in the region with 536 beds. The hospital has outstanding programs in heart care, orthopedics, rehabilitation, robotic surgery, mental health, stroke care and women’s health. Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns
The Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns (SMBHWN) is 84-beds -- the largest of its kind in Southern California. Technology and innovation are combined with the human touch to give at-risk babies the best start in life. With one of the largest very low birth weight populations in the U.S., the SMBHWN NICU is recognized for its outstanding neonatal outcomes among a database of over 200 hospitals. This NICU is a member of the Council of Women’s and Infants Specialty hospital and provides high quality of care, excellent customer service, and a great work environment.
As San Diego’s only hospital dedicated to exclusively to women, Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns offers a full range of health care services for women at all stages of life – from pregnancy to menopause to healthy aging. More babies enter the world at Sharp Mary Birch than any other hospital in California – about 9,500 each year. Ability to work throughout Sharp HealthCare, San Diego County
Per Diem, 12-Hour Variable Night Shift; Weekends as Needed
A minimal commitment of hours - work only 4 shifts per month, one of which is a weekend shift, of your choosing. Float within your level of care to more than one Sharp facility in the pay period and get paid 10 percent more hourly for all shifts in that pay period. Pre-book your shifts to a facility or unit of your choice, or choose to float to the area of greatest need. Earn extra money by bidding on and working shifts of your choosing via the Bid Shift program.
Sharp HealthCare pregnancy and childbirth hospitals are conveniently located across San Diego County. Delivering the most babies in California each year, we are dedicated to providing exemplary services, caregivers and accommodation to women and their newborns. Along with state-of-the-art labor and delivery suites and high-level NICUs, we offer family-centered care where there is room for a birth partner to stay each night.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Associates of Science Degree in Nursing
- Current unencumbered California Registered Nurse license
- Current NRP Certification
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- Three years of Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
