The Decision Support Systems Team is an experienced group of twenty-four dedicated to the support of the organization in enterprise analytics and data reporting. The Sr. Data Architect will be responsible for the expansion of our HDFS environment and implementation of data virtualization technology that will provide long-term support to Sharp HealthCare advanced analytics. Must have the ability to follow and/or develop a sustainable process for development and delivery of assignments and contribute ideas to the expansion of tools and technology. Understand and apply standards in coding and testing and able to determine project requirements and timelines based on functional specifications, client requirements and system design.
This position will also assist in the adoption of agile work flow in some development projects; and support existing tools and adoption of standard strategic tools to support the enterprise data warehouse and analytics program.
Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa and consist of the Spectrum location, the Ruffin Road location and Sharp Operations Center (SOC). These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. These services include: Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Finance, Nursing, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.
This position is located in Kearny Mesa, San Diego County.
8-hour shift, evenings and weekends as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Eight to ten years experience that includes logical and physical data modeling in a large data warehouse environment with a database architecture comparable to Sharp’s.
Proficient in Oracle and hands-on experience with industry standard ETL tools and technology.
Experience with complex systems integration and experience with industry standard data modeling tools.
Hands-on experience with Big Data technology including implementation of a HADOOP environment using common tools for data movement and development.
Working knowledge of various operating systems including Windows and Unix.
Experienced in creating highly available systems, leadership skills and ability to mentor and train other technical staff members.
Experience in designing architecture to support data virtualization and advanced analytics operations
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge and experience with business intelligence and analytics solution design and delivery.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to identity tasks and timelines for technical projects
