The Senior Health Information Specialist performs specific semi-technical functions in support of and/or adjunct to the delivery of timely, accurate and complete response to
requests for medical records and related information.
Sharp Rees-Stealy Health Information Management (HIM) Department plays a vital role in managing the patient’s health information by ensuring that it is held confidential.  We work with all departments to maintain the quality of our electronic medical record, support the physicians and clinical staff, and strive to provide excellent service to our external and internal candidates.

Sharp Rees-Stealy has been serving the health care needs of San Diegans since 1923 when doctors Clarence Rees and Clair Stealy formed San Diego's first multispecialty medical group practice. Today, Sharp Rees-Stealy has 22 locations (and still growing) and over 500 primary care doctors and specialists representing virtually every field of medicine.

This position is located in Kearny Mesa, San Diego County.
Per diem: 8am to 5pm. 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of terminal digit and alphabetical file systems.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
  • Ability to give close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, set schedule and manage own time.
  • One year previous clerical experience.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
 Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a medical setting.
  • Experience in HIM/Medical Records.
 Physical requirements of position may be discussed during interview.
