Responsibilities

Summary

The Speech Therapist I evaluates plans, directs and administers therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Assists patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department.

Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa. These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. Some of these services include Centralized Patient Placement Center, Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources and Talent Management, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Lean Six Sigma, Finance, Staffing Resource Network, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.

Location

This position will float throughout all Sharp HealthCare facilities

 Hours

SRN Per Diem employees are expected to work 4 shifts in a 4 week period with one of the shifts being a Saturday or Sunday.  Along with a major and minor holiday

 Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved professional school of Speech Therapy, or graduate of an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Speech Therapy or equivalent
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) AND California Speech-Language Pathologist OR Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship (SLPCF) AND California RPE Temporary License (Speech-Language Pathologist
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare)
  • 1 year Experience in all aspects of speech therapy preferred
