What You Will Do
The Sr. Systems Analyst is responsible for oversight of Software Testing and Quality Assurance of system processes, job control monitoring, user quality monitoring and quality assurance improvements. The Sr. Systems Analyst will provide support for the Data Management staff with expertise of best practices in File Transfer Protocol (FTP), EDI formats and data mappings and Extract Transform and Load (ETL) systems.

Required Qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5 Years experience in Systems Analyst within health plan operations, health plan software configuration, enrollment and claim file processing and trading partner management, and data processing environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Other : Some college coursework.

Essential Functions
  • File management
    EDI Management
    Creates and manages all File Transfer Protocol (FTP) transfers and routes for both incoming and outgoing files.
    Oversees FTP routes for internal automation of data processes.
    Works with internal and external resources to create Extract Transform and Load (ETL) procedures.
    Ensures that data files are able to process through web service calls into Core Admin System.
    Works with external partners on formats, specifications and layouts for new data files.
  • Quality assurance
    Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
    Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan.
    Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts and automated scripts.
    Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results.
    Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
    Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.
    Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
    Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes.
  • System testing
    Responsible for creating end-to-end test plans; executing the plan and managing all activities in the plan to ensure that all the objectives are met and that the system solution works as expected. The solution should be tested in terms of functionality, performance, reliability, stability and compatibility with other legacy- and / or external systems as needed.
    Ensure testing is well defined, planned and executed by ensuring that every phase and feature of the software solution is tested
    and that any potential issue is identified and fixed before the product, upgrade, or enhancement goes live.
  • Technical leadership
    Acts as Subject Matter Expert with internal and external customers on issues which require resolution, and for testing and implementing new products and procedures.
    Analyzes specific projects and statistical data with recommendations to the management team.
    Evaluates software solutions and makes product recommendation to the management team.
    Takes a significant role in the development and implementation of software functionality, upgrades and system integrations.
