This position is located in Downtown San Diego, San Diego County
10-hour day shift: 7:00am-5:00pm, occasional evenings and/or weekends as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
- Current unencumbered CA RN (Registered Nurse) license
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- Must have minimum five (5) years RN experience
- Minimum five (5) years ambulatory care or education environment
- Experience developing and implementing orientation and training programs
- Experience in writing policy and procedures
- Must be IV proficient
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
Directs or coordinates all orientation of clinical support staff to facilitate provision of high quality care and effective physician support. Interfaces with all aspects of training. Develops and implements programs to meet education requirements and needs for Sharp Rees-Stealy. Maintains Nursing Policy and Procedure manual, oversees clinical affiliation activities and assists Infection Control Liaison as needed. Assists Director by representing the department on committees and task forces and serves as consultant in absence of director.
The Department of Training and Education supports the Sharp Rees-Stealy Urgent Care and Primary Care/Specialty Clinics with clinical staff and new nursing orientation for Medical Assistants, Orthopedic/Ophthalmic Technicians, LVNs and RNs. Training and Education prepares and teach in-services based on needs of the departments.
