Staffing Assistant

Staffing Assistants work directly with hospital unit personnel to determine and fill staffing needs by position and shift.  Knowledge of nursing skills and levels of care, plus patient care areas is a must to understand needed positions and qualifications necessary to meet unit and facility staffing needs.  Must be able to review staffing patterns and schedules and forecast staffing needs by area to meet client needs. 
Position requires the ability to sit for 8 hours per day, answer multiple phone lines, and perform various data entry assignments in addition to staffing for client groups in our system.  It is a perfect role for someone who is a quick learner and independent thinker.
Sharp HealthCare's Staffing Resource Network (SRN) is a pool of dedicated professionals that provide staffing coverage throughout Sharp HealthCare. 
Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa and consist of the Spectrum location, the Ruffin Road location and Sharp Operations Center (SOC).  These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. These services include: Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Finance, Nursing, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.

This position is located in Kearny Mesa, San Diego County.
10 hours variable shift. 
Must be able to rotate through all shifts (0215- 1245, 0315 – 1345, 1230 – 2300, 1330 – 2400) and work every other weekend.  Some holiday commitment also required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous work experience in an acute care hospital patient care environment 
  • Excellent customer service and ability to multi-task in a busy environment
  • Ability to  answer multiple phone lines, and perform various data entry assignments in addition to shift to shift and daily staffing for the system
  • Attention to detail and follow through are essential for success in this area 
  • Computer experience
  • Work experience in an acute care hosptial environment required
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • 1-2 years recent acute care staffing experience
