The Supervisor of Imaging is responsible for supervising and coordinating the on-going effectiveness of the technical employees of the Diagnostic Department within the Sharp Rees-Stealy Clinics. Has oversight for multiple clinic sites, services to include ultrasound, Dexa, PACS and digital mammography.
Leadership/Employee Management: On an on-going basis, communicates relevant information, priorities and expectations to staff and provides feedback on performance and operational issues. Supervises daily activities of areas of responsibility. Regularly monitors progress against operating plans, develops and tracks productivity, schedules staff and plans work-flow. Hires staff, conducts performance appraisals, plans training and provides coaching, counseling and guidance to employees. Works in collaboration with Radiology leadership team as well as site leadership to ensure top levels performance are achieved.
Financial Performance: Participates in the annual planning process for areas of responsibility. Participates in setting priorities, develops the budget in conjunction with the Imaging Manager. Ensures the implementation of operating plans for assigned sites as well as operational efficiency of areas of responsibility. Coordinates assigned area to achieve budget results. Reviews updates and implements efficient operating policies and procedures.
Quality/Customer Service: Assures the quality of services of areas of responsibility. Develops and promotes quality and customer service workflows. Develops and presents reports/recommendations to improve overall operations within areas of responsibility, including changes in operating plans staffing, work-flow and operating procedures for assigned site.
The Radiology Department at the Sharp Rees-Stealy Clinics offers radiology services at 17 convenient locations throughout San Diego County. Our services are provided with state of the art digital and CR imaging equipment sent and stored in PACS. We offer services for General, Fluoroscopy, Dexa, Mammography, Ultrasonography, CT and MRI imaging needs. Our radiology staff is highly trained and certified to meet the needs of San Diego Community. This position is located at Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Center - Downtown, San Diego. Travel between locations is required
8-hour shifts; Full-time position to work Day Shift hours; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; weekends as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA approved program in radiology technology
- California Radiologic Technology license (CRT), California Fluoroscopy license
- Two to five years recent supervisory experience
- Three to five years technical experience
- Working knowledge of all Radiology modalities
- Skill to collaborate effectively with department managers, leads, technologists, staff, physicians, and physician office personnel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Microsoft Office application suite proficiency
- Demonstrated experience in project management
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field, such as: Radiologic Technology, Radiologic Sciences
