This is a full time position located in Kearny Mesa (San Diego County). It is recommended that you submit a cover letter that details your training and education professional experience.
What You Will Do
To independently lead and coordinate training and communication activities, as needed for the Sharp Community Medical Group Physician Practice Solutions' Department and for the SCMG Connect product offering.
- 2 Years training and education experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Related coursework may be substituted for one year of experience.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians -PREFERRED
- California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -PREFERRED
Communicates information and ideas verbally and in writing so others will understand.

Documents and reports status on a regular basis to SCMG management and staff to ensure understanding, agreement and attainment of department goals. Obtains consensus and approval on required changes. Documents and maintains outstanding task and issues lists. Keeps manager informed through status and activity reports, as requested.
- Customer service
Meets with users at practices on a regular basis to assess the practice's adoption of the application(s) and assists with knowledge gaps and improvements.
Responds to requests for information, modifications and assistance to ensure users are satisfied.
Presents information regarding SCMG Connect applications to customers.
Utilizes collaborative practice to communicate customers' needs with the SCMG team. Seeks workable solutions.
Provides guidance, teaching and training for end users through the post-implementation and/or operational phases of implementation. Serves as an on-going consultant liaison.
- Demonstrates initiative and teamwork
Maintains active, positive relationships with all customers by continuously assessing needs, preferences and levels of satisfaction with tasks.
Maintains close contact with Senior Training Coordinator on all matters pertaining to the development or maintenance of application software and training materials.
Facilitates sharing of information and knowledge amongst team members.
Assists co-workers with tasks.
Assists with smooth implementation of new and existing procedures.
Represents SCMG in a positive, professional and competent manner.
Demonstrates dedication to enhancement and improvement of skills and departmental objectives.
- Material development and delivery
Develops, publishes and prepares training materials and presentations to support effective training.
Designs and prepares end-user exercises to validate learning and encourage participation in classroom settings.
Conducts computer training and orientation of staff and co-workers in an efficient and economical manner.
Evaluates effectiveness of the training programs. Compiles results of class evaluations.
Develops web-based training modules, classroom presentations and end-user exercises for use both in classroom and non-classroom settings.
Proofreads and edits other Training Coordinators content to ensure accuracy and consistency with departmental standards.
- Project management
Coordinates and ensures delivery of outcomes from a matrix of several simultaneous projects. Uses appropriate prioritization, timing and creativity, so projects are completed on time and within resource constraints, as agreed to with affected parties.
Assists SCMG management on special projects and supports other SCMG goals. These projects are performed in a cost effective way, within established deadlines. Demonstrates ability to independently perform other departmental tasks not specific to
Participates in and offers suggestions (at least 2 per year) to improve departmental service, productivity and development.
- Training coordination
Plans, coordinates and schedules resources such as participants, trainers, training rooms and equipment to ensure effective training and education.
Ensures that training is customer focused and based on the needs identified by customers throughout the system.
Establishes training materials and other tools that support educational objectives to ensure smooth integration of new systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to effectively work with SCMG management, staff, physicians and contract personnel; communicates clearly, concisely and accurately with people both verbally and in writing.
- Achieves results for the organization with and through people; practices good time management and demonstrates leadership skills and behaviors.
- Demonstrates knowledge of principles and methods for end-user instruction.
- Seeks specific knowledge related to the IPA business model and the healthcare market as a whole so as to understand and address training needs within SCMG and its practices.
