This position is located in Downtown, San Diego County
 
Hours
8:00am-5:00pm,no weekends 
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education as required by the California Board of Registered Nursing (CA-BRN)   
  • Current unencumbered California Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum three (3) years RN work experience in related clinical area
  • IV proficient
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification 
  • Triage experience with pediatrics and adults 
  • Leadership experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Summary
The Triage RN demonstrates clinical knowledge and technical expertise per the RN scope of practice with emphasis in primary care triaging. Uses well developed assessment and critical thinking skills to deliver all nursing care. Partners with physicians and other staff, triage primary care patients by phone or in clinic to provide high quality patient care. Performs other department tasks as needed.  Role model and resource for other LVN and Medical Assistant staff. 
The Department of primary and specialty care consists of 11 Internists and 2 Physicians and makes up a large portion of the Sharp Rees-Stealy care network.

Essential Physical Requirements may include
  • Computer typing and telephone calls
  • Walking, sitting, stooping, bending and kneeling
  • Able to operate general medical equipment
  • Lifts or carries light (10-25 pounds) general office and medical equipment
  • Transferring patients to and from wheelchair, exam table and car
  • Pushing and pulling wheelchairs and gurneys
