The Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist performs a wide variety of technical procedures with quality patient care, assisting physician as needed. Maintains knowledge of current department protocols and assures all documentation and tracking is completed on a daily basis. Ensures production of high quality images. Practices and adheres to regulatory requirements and infection control guidelines. Ability to concentrate on tasks at hand, consistently follows procedures, demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, cooperation and maintain an atmosphere of professionalism. Adheres to all hospital and departmental safety and compliance regulations, guidelines and procedures. Ensures high level of customer service.
Successful candidate will join the Outpatient Pavilion Imaging Team, dedicated to providing the highest in quality patient services. Service areas include diagnostic imaging, diagnostic ultrasound, operating room, pain procedure room, computed tomography, positron emission computed tomography and 3D mammography. Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion, located next to Sharp Memorial Hospital, offers a wide array of services including cancer treatment, laser vision correction, general and women’s imaging, outpatient surgery, endoscopy, diabetes education, and a community conference center and health library. At the heart of the Pavilion is the Cushman Wellness Center — providing comprehensive health evaluations tailored to an individual’s age and lifestyle, and integrative therapies to enhance physical, mental and spiritual health.
This position is located at the Sharp Outpatient Pavilion in the community of Serra Mesa, San Diego County
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program or equivalent
- RDMS by the ARDMS
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association
- Skill in performing ultrasound scanning techniques
- Knowledge of ultrasound physical principles and instrumentation
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and related positioning for accurate imaging with skills in recognizing structures that are visualized and ability to demonstrate anatomical relationships, normal and pathological
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
- One or more years of Diagnostic Ultrasound Tech experience
