Our program is unique in its design and offers features that set it apart, creating a supportive environment for our team members.
Our flexible benefits include a choice of two HMO medical plan (both of which include vision), two PPO dental choices, flexible spending accounts, accident insurance, long-term disability insurance and life insurance.
Generous vacation, holiday and sick leave
Our paid leave plan provides replacement income while you take time off for rest and relaxation, or while you or a family member is recovering from a temporary illness or injury. Paid time off and extended sick insurance can be used as they are accrued, and include well-being time and personal days.
We offer one of the most generous plans among health care systems in San Diego, and new Sharp employees start with 25 days of paid time off in just the first year.

Our Sharp Best Health wellness program provides all team members with a work environment that supports their personal health goals. Our interactive portal allows you to set your personalized health and wellness goals and access a variety of activity and nutrition trackers.
Employee assistance program
At Sharp, we understand that personal problems occasionally arise and you may need to seek outside professional advice. We’re here to help. Our employee assistance program helps employees develop and maintain a lifestyle that supports good health and productivity. The program provides free, confidential support via counseling for individuals and couples, wellness education and referrals to community resources. Up to eight sessions per calendar year are included at no cost and all services are completely confidential.
We’re proud to offer two retirement plans to match your needs. The Sharp$aver 401(a) plan matches your after-tax contributions and the 403(b) plan offers a long-term savings plan for pre-tax and Roth contributions with available loan and withdrawal provisions. And we provide regular educational seminars and access to expert financial planners to help you shape your saving strategies.
Educational opportunities and tuition reimbursement
We support and encourage the growth and development of our employees through educational courses for credit in institutions of higher learning, continuing education programs (conferences, workshops, seminars) and specialty certification examinations.
Our education reimbursement program provides full-time and part-time employees the opportunity to enhance current job skills with a variety of training options, as well as allowing additional reimbursement for college tuition paid toward a degree program.
