Hiring Process at Sharp

At Sharp HealthCare, we’re proud to be recognized as a health care leader in San Diego — and our primary goal is to always provide you with an exceptional candidate and new hire experience. Operating in this manner enables us to match the best possible candidate for each position.

  1. Step 1 - Application

It all starts with you. If you find a position that sparks your passion, we encourage you to apply.

  2. Step 2 – Interview

After we receive your application, we’ll determine if an interview is the next step. If you’re selected for an interview, the hiring department or a talent acquisition specialist will contact you.

  3. Step 3 - References

If you’ve reached the final stage, you’ll be asked to provide professional references, which are then processed by a service called Checkster.

  4. Step 4 - Job offer

The hiring manager will select the final candidate and extend a job offer. If you’ve received and accepted an offer, one of our onboarding specialists will be in touch to walk you through the next steps.

  5. Step 5 - Onboarding

After you’ve accepted your job offer, you’ll need to go through a few more steps, including:

    • Background check
    • Pre-employment physical
    • Verify I-9 (eligibility to work in the United States)
    • Verify all licensures/certifications/degrees required for the position
    • Complete all new hire paperwork
    • Meet with an onboarding specialist to review paperwork (SRN employees will also meet with an SRN representative at this time)

As part of the pre-employment physical, you will need to take a TB test. This will require you to return within 72 hours to have your test read. Please allow time for this in your schedule.

Once we’ve received all your paperwork and clearances, your New Employee Orientation will be scheduled.

  6. Step 6 – Employee orientation

Your first day of employment will be at New Employee Orientation, held every Monday and Thursday at our corporate office in Kearny Mesa.

Sharp Grossmont and Sharp Rees-Stealy employees will need to attend an additional orientation for their respective entities, as well as various training classes for their specific roles.
