Jay’s award-winning career is built on passion, learning and support

Since joining the Sharp HealthCare community as a nurse resident in 2019, Jay’s career has taken off. His combination of talent and passion lights up every room he’s in, immediately catching the eyes of the Sharp Chula Vista team who hired him as a full-time 5E Cardiac PCU before his residency was even half completed. Six years later, he’s continuing to set the tone for nursing excellence as a clinical nurse at our recently opened Grossmont Hospital where he’s broadening his experience with post-anesthesia and outpatient work.

Jay is exemplifying The Sharp Experience through the incredible work he’s doing every day. Only six years into his time with us, he’s already earning widespread recognition. He was recently named Sharp Grossmont Hospital’s 2024 Nurse of the Year and New Knowledge, Innovations and Improvements Clinical Nurse Honoree. It’s this commitment to always learning and striving to provide the best possible care that makes a real difference in our community.
