Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$67.860 - $78.740 - $89.620


The stated pay scale reflects the range as defined by the collective bargaining agreement between Sharp HealthCare and Sharp Professional Nurses Network, United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals, NUHHCE, AFSME, AFL-CIO.  Placement within the range is based on years of RN experience.


What You Will Do
Integrates care with multidisciplinary team to facilitate patients' access to needed resource from pre-admission to discharge. Transfers knowledge and mentors others to improve clinical practice. The application of expert nursing principles will directly result in improved outcomes as assessed by patients, family, physicians and staff. In addition to the roles/responsibilities of a clinical nurse, the advanced clinician applies the following nursing principles in the provision of science based comprehensive care delivery to the identified patient population.

Required Qualifications
  • Other : Graduate of nursing school.
  • 2 Years General nursing experience
  • 2 Years Recent pertinent clinical experience as defined by the CBA
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) - American Board for Transplant Certification -PREFERRED

Essential Functions
  • Consultant: Recognized advisor to staff and/or groups in area of practice expertise.
    Sought out for critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
    And choose one or more of the following:
    Documents participation in one major initiative (e.g. new technology, new care delivery system, etc.).
    Participates as a clinical consultant to a performance improvement team that results in a positive change in practice.
    Demonstrates examples of improved outcomes due to intervention with other staff, clinicians, or physicians.
    Improves interdisciplinary care though conferences/communication/documentation, complying with pertinent regulatory guidelines, as previously agreed by management/designee.
    Cites documentation in the medical record of five ethical discussions that include appropriate consultation with other relevant disciplines.
  • Makes nursing decisions based on appropriate protocols
    Develops skills in others through coaching, communicating, facilitating learning and modeling to achieve identified outcomes.
    And choose one or more of the following:
    New hires successfully complete orientation competencies and demonstrate proficiency of post orientation competencies in direct patient care by time of annual performance review.
    Implements outcome - based educational programs designed to resolve educational deficits, as previously agreed with manager/designee.
    Implements outcome - based programs designed to resolve practice problems, previously agreed with manager/designee.
    Works with individual clinician and/or interdisciplinary team to improve documentation on the appropriate forms as evidenced in the auditing of charts (Measurable goal: ___% of audited charts will demonstrate 100% compliance with JCAHO/DHS/hospital standards requirements).
  • Practitioner/Case Manager: Responsible for actions which result in improved patient/unit outcomes.
    Demonstrates competency as practitioner in areas of practice expertise in coordination and delivery of care.
    Identifies practice improvement opportunities and implements action plans that result in positive patient/unit outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Able to demonstrate professional skills/departmental competencies necessary to be a practitioner/consultant/mentor.
