$90.700 - $117.033 - $143.365The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. What You Will Do
The Manager, Pharmacy role at Sharp Memorial Hospital plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality Pharmacy Services. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, this role is responsible for leading and implementing these services across various locations, including the Sharp Memorial, our Outpatient Pavilion, and satellite locations. Key responsibilities include overseeing rational drug therapy, product distribution, research, teaching, and service development, all while focusing on continuous quality improvement.
This role also has full responsibility for employee management, which involves selection, orientation, scheduling, training, and development, as well as personnel actions. Additionally, the manager assists the Director in budget management and maintains the daily operational flow within the department.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- 5 Years experience in a hospital pharmacy practice or equivalent healthcare setting.
- 3 Years in a leadership role.
- California Pharmacist License - CA State Board of Pharmacy -REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with 340B programs
- Experience with procurement and finance
- Completed of a pharmacy residency program
Essential Functions
- Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Leads, organizes and accepts responsibility for ensuring job duties for Leads, Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians are completed according to Sharp and regulatory standards.
- Makes budget recommendations for capital equipment needs and operational expenses of the department and manages to the budget.
- Supports, develops, implements, and interprets policies, procedures, philosophy and objectives of the hospital and department.
- Responsible for departmental human resources management, including hiring, onboarding, performance management and development, timely completion of introductory and annual performance evaluations, and fostering an engaged workforce.
- Maintains required competencies for self and all employees within the department and accepts and provides constructive feedback.
- Communicates positively and proactively with employees and stakeholders in written and oral form, including staff meetings and huddles .
- Prepares departmental work schedules and ensures employee time and attendance records are approved in accordance with Payroll guidelines.
- Serves on committees as outlined or intended by administration and departmental interest and completes/reports on related projects as directed.
- Acts as a liaison for the department and provides physicians, ancillary departments, and administration with direction and/or assistance as needed.
- Maintains appropriate departmental records as required by state federal and professional standards.
- Pursues professional growth and participates in a professional organization.
- Completes other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, positively coach and develop staff, and complete a complex range of operational and clinical tasks using problem solving and critical thinking skills.
