$124.640 - $160.830 - $197.020The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
The Vice President of Women's Services provides visionary leadership and strategic oversight for women's health services across multiple entity hospitals within Sharp HealthCare. This executive as delegated from the SVP Market CEO the authority, responsibility and accountability for women's clinical and nursing services within Sharp Healthcare hospitals, as well as accountability for the overall leadership, direction, and management for assigned areas of responsibility in the fulfillment of the mission, values and philosophy of Sharp HealthCare. Responsible for advancing clinical excellence, operational performance, and patient-centered care in obstetrics, gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, neonatology, reproductive health, and related specialties. Ensures quality improvement, staff empowerment, customer satisfaction, cost-effectiveness, and market competitiveness of programs/services under direction. Alignment with system-wide goals, regulatory standards, and market demands while fostering innovation and collaboration across diverse care settings. This position is subject to broad policy and general executive guidance, within an overall strategic framework.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing. Or
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Women's services. Or
- Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) in Women's services.
- 8 Years management experience within clinical or nursing services preferable within women’s services.
- California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing OR California Physicians and Surgeons License - Medical Board of CA -REQUIRED

- 3 Years executive level experience.

Essential Functions
- Quality
Develop an integrated, streamlined, systematic process to produce top decile clinical quality performance. Ensures the continuous and timely availability of nursing services and staff to care for patients.
Ensures that nursing standards of patient care and standards of nursing practice are consistent with current nursing research findings and nationally recognized professional standards.
Implements the findings of current research from nursing and other literature into the policies and procedures governing the provision of nursing care.
Ensures quality and economic performance of assigned areas of responsibility to support or provide quality health care services.
Develops and recommends overall organizational policies and objectives within functional areas and ensures implementation. Oversees accreditation, compliance, and regulatory readiness for women’s health services across the enterprise. - Leadership
Determines direction, goals, and objectives of assigned areas and ensures implementation of strategic and operating plans. Directs the development of short and long-range plans and budgets.
Directs the strategic planning and business plan development process for women’s services across the system.
Assigns responsibility to individuals or groups of nursing staff members to act on improving women’s services’ performance.
Collaborates with other hospital leaders in designing and providing patient care and services and supports systems integration with Sharp HealthCare through coordinates of outcomes by gaining commitment from executives, physicians, nursing and others throughout the enterprise.
Supports the professional development of management and clinical staff performance to maximize contributions towards established goals. Serves as the executive sponsor for women’s health programs, partnerships, and community engagement initiatives. Participates in medical staff committees and employee meetings as required. - Customer Service
Provides and maintains effective communication with medical staff, the community, and all team members. Establish visible presence in the hospitals to gain operational insight and strengthen collaboration and inclusivity. Position Sharp HealthCare as a leader in women’s health services through thought leadership and innovation.
Evaluates and analyzes programs, services and financial performance and implements appropriate actions based on identified opportunities for improvement. - Financial
Ensures that the highest quality of service is being rendered to patients and promotes health care services that are produced in a cost-effective manner. Balances financial performance with quality outcomes. Aligns budgets with hospital’s strategic goals.
Prepares financial proformas to support program development and evaluation. Monitor financial performance, identify and partner with business development teams for growth opportunities, and optimize service delivery models. - Safety
Promotes the Sharp HealthCare Patient Safety Program and achieves improvements in safety reporting and reductions in safety events including Culture of Safety survey response rates and use of the survey results in improvement efforts. Champions a just culture environment that encourages transparency and improvement.
Achieves ongoing improvements in the reduction of hospital acquired infections including the hand hygiene program. Ensure that safety is not only a regulatory requirement but a defining feature of organizational excellence.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Deep understanding of obstetrics, gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, neonatology and women’s health programs.
- Knowledge of hospital finance, budgeting, and cost containment strategies. Skilled in developing and managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
- Knowledge of operations and a general knowledge of health care organizations, typically from broad prior experience.
- Awareness of demographic trends, health disparities, and community outreach strategies.
- Ability to lead across multiple hospitals, balancing local needs with system-wide priorities ensuring integration and standardization.
- Ability to set long-term strategic direction for women’s services and align resources accordingly.

- Must have excellent communication skills with peers, physicians and other hospital staff, be an effective spokesperson for multiple groups of individuals, ability to work under pressure and remain flexible with conflicting priorities.
